Family School Liaison Counsellor

My name is Jeanine and I am so happy to have joined Horizon Division as a Family School Liaison Counsellor. To be connecting with so many kind, welcoming people has been wonderful. I wanted to send out an introduction so that parents, staff, and students have a bit of a picture of who I am and what I do! I have a background in music and creative therapies, so performing is a passion of mine. Integrating my performance/music background into the therapy room has brought me to a client-centred and holistic approach.
To me, this means that each individual relationship in counselling will look a little different, and I invite my clients/students to take an active role in guiding our conversations and goals. Thus, clients are the "experts" on their own lives and I get to facilitate and collaborate with them to achieve their goals. Holistically, I tend to approach counselling with a myriad of techniques and theories for comprehensive growth: in the mental, emotional, academic, social, spiritual realms and more! I find this approach allows for organic conversations and greater motivation/efficacy during the counselling process.
I am always hopeful for organic conversations and supportive processes to unfold, so if anyone has any questions or concerns for me, please do not hesitate to reach out. [Jeanine Williams- M.C., M. I would welcome the opportunity to connect and to continue integrating into the community to best support the students here! Warm regards,
